Personal Safety - Smart Safety Tips

Here are some smart tips and advice to help you stay safe when you are out and about.

Always tell your parents or guardians where you are going and what time you will be back. It is better if you go with a group of friends and stay with them - tell your parents/guardians who you are with.

Do not use dark alleyways or unlit routes. Always choose a safe, well-lit route to get around. Remember to take great care when crossing roads or walking near traffic. Always follow the green cross code and railway code.

A stranger is someone you do not know well. Many strangers are good, caring people but some are very bad. It is safer not to talk to strangers or not to allow strangers to talk to you. Never take sweets from a stranger and always keep a distance between you and their car if they are trying to talk to you from a car. Tell your parent/guardian, an adult you know well or a police officer if a stranger approaches you or tries to talk to you.
